The Best Online Roulette Games
We offer a number of different online roulette games, each boasting a different set of rules and features for you to choose from. Here are some of our top options:
European Roulette
The term “European Roulette” can be used interchangeable for French Roulette, but it is also used to refer to variations that don’t quite fit within the American or French Roulette descriptions. If you’re looking for low house edge variations of online Roulette and you can’t find French Roulette, then look for European Roulette instead.
Mini Roulette
In simple terms, Mini Roulette is a compact version, and in some cases, it’s offered as a Roulette bonus alongside bigger and more feature-rich games.
Mini Roulette often uses a cartoonish layout, with a small wheel off to one side and a small betting board on the other. Place your bets, spin the wheel, and wait for the results. It’s quick, easy, and while the odds don’t climb as high, there are still some respectable wins to accumulate.
Mini Roulette is ideal if you’re looking for quicker, more compact games. If you’re new to Roulette, it may also be better suited to your needs as there are fewer numbers and betting options. However, many experienced players may struggle with the lack of betting options.
American Roulette
The game of Roulette was born in European casinos several hundred years ago and from there it flourished and spread. In the 20th century, it made its way across the Atlantic and into Las Vegas, after which the rules were tweaked to increase the house edge and therefore improve the casino’s return.
One of the biggest changes was the introduction of a second Green Zero space, known as the Double Zero. The La Partage and En Prison rules were also scrapped. This means two things: Firstly, the odds of securing an Outside Bet, or any other bet for that matter, decrease. Secondly, if the ball lands on the Green Zero spaces, you will lose all your money, not just half of it.
This is why American online Roulette variants have an average house edge of 5.26%, much higher than French Roulette variants. This is true for offline and online Roulette.
Multi-Ball Roulette
Multi-Ball Roulette is one of the more unusual casino games you’ll come across, but a very fun one, nonetheless. There are up to 10 balls on the wheel at any given time, greatly increasing the odds of success with every spin that you take.
Multi-Ball online Roulette variants are somewhat rare, but they are becoming more common as developers seek ways to add a new spin to this classic game. The house edge of this game can vary, but many Multi Ball games provide a house edge of between 1.5% and 3%.
Multi-Wheel Roulette
Multi-Wheel online roulette variants are more common than Multi Ball variants, but they work in a similar way, increasing the chances of success and the number of features by adding more wheels.
You can place a single bet and watch the outcome unfold on two different wheels. Multi Wheel Roulette can come in several forms, adopting American or French rules and even offering side bets, where you can win big jackpots.
The house edge for Multi Wheel Roulette is similar to that of Multi-Ball Roulette and is often much closer to French variants than American ones.
Live Dealer Roulette
Live Dealer Roulette can assume many different forms, including French, American, Multi-Wheel, and more. The difference is that these online Roulette games take place in a Live Dealer setting, with real dealers, Roulette wheels, and Roulette tables. The only thing virtual is you and the actions that you take.
Live Dealer Roulette variants are perfect if you’re looking to experience real casino wagering in all its glory. You can chat with the dealers and the fellow players, you can see what other bets are being placed, and if you have any questions, you can get the answers you seek by asking them directly.
In the early days of Live Dealer games, there were lots of queues and slow connections and because the games were expensive to run, you could only play with medium-to-high stakes. But they have come a long way in the last few years and you can now play these games at break-neck speed, with no long queues, no endless buffering, and as little or as much money as you want.
French Roulette
French Roulette adopts classic rules and in doing so it offers some of the best odds and the biggest payouts. There is only 1 Green Zero space on the wheel, which is important as it increases the chance of landing every other number, as well as the Outside Bets (Odd/Even, Red/Black, etc).
The more of these Green Zero spaces there are, the less chance you have of winning. French Roulette also has rules known as En Prison and La Partage and these take effect for all Outside Bets once the ball lands on the Green Zero space.
With En Prison, your bet is locked in place and remains there for the next spin. You don’t win anything, but you don’t lose anything either. With La Partage, which is far more common, half of your bet is taken from you and the other half is returned. This is like the “Push” outcome used on some sports bets and card games.
The Roulette table layout lists all the numbers down the centre with the Outside Bets on either side and the Green Zero at the very top. The house edge of French Roulette is 1.35%.
Live Roulette Strategy
In terms of strategy, you may want to note a few things when you play roulette live. There are quite a number of strategy options for this game, so the wise have separated it into two, more manageable groupings, progressive bets and non-progressive bets.
Under progressive bets, there are three different methods, the Martingale strategy, the Reverse Martingale, also known as the Paroli strategy and the D’Alembert system. When you play live roulette using the Martingale strategy, you will be doubling your bets after each loss. This method, albeit being newbie-friendly, can be quite a risky one, as the outcome of spinning a roulette wheel is entirely random. For the Reverse Martingale, you double your bets only after a win, which is significantly less risky compared to the Martingale strategy. These two bets work very well for outside bets, with a 50% chance of you recovering your losses.
As for the D’Alembert system, it isn’t a steep progression like the previous two strategy systems. Instead, you determine a set bet increment for you game and proceed to lower your bet when you win and increase your bet as you lose, following the set amount. The safest amount would be between 0.33% – 0.50% of your total betting funds. This method usually leaves you with more than you’ve started, although the wins may not be as large as when using the Martingale systems.
For non-progressive bettings, you can choose to maintain your bet throughout the course of your game, or increase and decrease it as you see fit. One of the strategies under non-progressive betting is a method devised by Ian Fleming, where the player bets a fixed amount on almost half of the roulette table, hoping to turn the odds in their favor. A better strategy would be to place your bets on five consecutive numbers on the wheel. This makes lots of sense since the ball if it misses your original target bet, may land in any of the spaces before or after your chosen number.
